On Thursday, the court issued a rule after an initial hearing on a petition filed by four lawyers.

The petition also sought the court’s order instructing the government to open judicial and administrative probes into the matter.

The court is expected to issue on order over it later in the day, said counsel Jyotirmoy Barua, who stood for the petitioners.

“On the probes, the state argued that the administration has already formed a panel. The court sought details on the members of the panel and whether it started to work.”

The judges kept its order pending for 2pm and told the state to come up with the probe body’s details before then, he told the media.
