Police say they have recovered the bodies of four men who were killed in a landslide while working at a quarry in Sylhet’s Companyganj.

Two of the bodies were found on Sunday night and two others on Monday morning, said Sylhet Additional Superintendent of Police Shamsul Alam.

Two of the dead have been identified as Matiur Rahman, 30, and Ruhul Mia, 22.

A few workers were carrying stones from the 70-80 foot deep hole in the Upazila’s Kalairag area around 9:30pm on Sunday night, the Additional SP said.

“The first two were found last night and two others were found around 10:30am,” he said.

The police official said that three workers – Raqibul, Firoze Ali and Ruhul have been admitted to the Companyganj Upazila Heaalth Complex with injuries. Quarry labour boss Abdul Rauf, 50, has been detained by police.
