BTV’s popular old plays on YouTube

Three popular old TV plays are now available on BTV’s official YouTube channel, BTV SMW1.

The three plays are — Kothao Keu Nei, Bahubrihi and Sangsaptak.

Those plays gained enormous popularity among the viewers during the days of their airing.

BTV’s social media wing programme manager Md Mahfujar Rahman said they posted all the episodes on the YouTube channel meeting the viewers’ long cherished desire.

He further said they will continue posting many other old popular dramas.

“We’ll gradually upload all the popular dramas so that viewers can watch those from anywhere in the world.”

Popular wordsmith and novelist Humayun Ahmed wrote the stories of ‘Kothao Keu Nei’ and ‘Bahubrihi’ while ‘Sangsaptak’ was written by Shahidullah Kaiser and the screenplay by Imdadul Haq Milon.

Asaduzzaman Noor, Suborna Mustafa, Abdul Quader, Afsana Mimi and others starred the ‘Kothao Keu Nei’ directed by Barkatullah.

‘Bahubrihi’ earned peak-popularity for its signature dialogues like “Tui Rajakar” (You are a collaborator) and “Apni Holen Giye Botobrikkho” (You are a banyan tree).

Abul Hayat, Asaduzzaman Noor, Lutfun Nahar Lata starred the Nawazish Ali Khan directed play.

And, in ‘Sangsaptak’, there were Humayun Faridi, Raisul Islam Asad, Mamunur Rashid and several others.

On its 53rd founding anniversary on 25 December last year, BTV launched the YouTube channel. More than 5,000 people have already subscribed the channel.
